The mission of Lions International is to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian services and grants that impact lives both locally and globally, and encourage peace and international understanding. Our club here in Longswamp Township continues to grow and work towards that mission.
Each year, our Longswamp Club holds various fundraising events that allow our club to deliver needed community assets as well as provide financial support for many local youth and humanitarian efforts. With that, we are pleased to be able to offer 3 scholarships within the Brandywine Heights Area School District each year. The scholarships are aligned with the Lions Club International mission and goals. These scholarships are linked to Community Service — as the Lions Club International motto is ‘We Serve’ — Life Science, as the Lions Club International was started and continues to help the blind and visually impaired, and finally — Environmental Science, based on the efforts that Lions Clubs put forth following natural disasters. Each scholarship awarded is for $500 and can be used for any expenses you may have in furthering your education in one of these fields of study.
As a community service organization, we would like to ask you to focus on informing us about your service to the community, life science, or environmental science fields in the essay portion of the application.
