We collect used eyeglasses to help improve vision for people in need around the world. Here’s what we do with the eyeglasses: 

1. Collection: Eyeglasses are collected through our yellow donation boxes placed at the Honey Brook Lions Club Community Center and Eby’s Store of Honey Brook.
2. Sorting and Cleaning: The collected eyeglasses are sent to Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers (LERCs), where they are sorted by prescription strength, cleaned, and prepared for distribution.
3. Distribution: Usable eyeglasses are then distributed to people in low and middle-income countries through optical missions and other programs. This helps provide vision correction to those who otherwise wouldn’t have access to eye care.
4. Recycling: Eyeglasses that cannot be reused are recycled for their materials, helping to minimize waste.
