The Longswamp Lions Club was established on February 17, 1954, and for the past 70 years, it has been dedicated to serving the community of Longswamp Township. Our initiatives have included a diverse array of projects, from organizing White Cane Days to providing essential donations such as barbeque fireplaces and enhancements to local facilities like baseball fields and various amenities in Longswamp Park. The Longswamp Lions Club is unwavering in its commitment to delivering the exceptional services offered by Lions Clubs International, ensuring that our community benefits from our collective efforts and resources.
Our mission revolves around empowering volunteers and fostering partnerships that aim to enhance health and well-being, fortify community bonds, and extend support to those in need through humanitarian services and impactful grants. We strive to make a difference not only locally but also on a global scale, promoting peace and understanding among nations. This commitment is reflected in our daily activities, as we work tirelessly to fulfill our mission wherever we serve, making a tangible impact in the lives of individuals and communities alike.
The influence of Lions International is profound, transcending borders and reaching across continents. The Longswamp Lions Club has been a service organization since 1954, made up of members whose goals are centered on assisting our community, especially the hearing and visually impaired and providing assistance for other humanitarian needs. We encourage service-minded people to serve their community by taking an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community. It is our desire to grow personally and professionally during our service.
When compassionate individuals come together to take meaningful action, the result is a remarkable transformation within their community, creating a sense of fulfillment for all participants. This is the essence of being a Lion. It embodies the spirit of leadership through example, fostering connections, and enhancing the world through acts of kindness. With a collective strength of 1.4 million dedicated men and women, Lions work collaboratively to leave a lasting legacy and positively influence lives.
